3 charged with assault in separate cases

Brad Michael Edwards, 21, of 1344 Sherman St., has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Whiteman on state police charges of simple assault and harassment for allegedly pushing his ex-girlfriend into a bed, causing her to hit her head and right knee on the bed frame in a motel room on East Third Street in Loyalsock Township on July 19, according to court records. He is free on $25,000 bail.

In another state police case, Dave Elisha Talbert Jr., 30, of 2500 Federal Ave., apartment 116, was arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment after pulling a brother to the ground and punching him seven times at 1408 Country Club Drive in Loyalsock Township about 8 p.m. Thursday, it was alleged in a court document. Following his arraignment before District Kirsten Gardner, Talbert was released on $15,000 bail.

In a third case, Justin Nicole Fisher, 32, of 2208 Lincoln St. has been charged with simple assault and harassment after he pushed his wife backwards against a fence outside the couple’s home about 8:45 p.m. on July 25, city police alleged. The victim suffered injuries to a finger and her back, police said. Fisher denied pushing his wife against the fence. Following his arraignment hours later before District Judge Christian Frey, Fisher was initially jailed, but has since been released on $5,000 bail. He has since waived his preliminary hearing.

Old Lycoming Township man charged with theft

When Timothy Arden Goodreau was taken into custody late Saturday morning at an undisclosed location, the 58-year-old Old Lycoming Township man had in his possession five stolen credit cards belonging to a person identified only as “GB,” and a stolen paper check belonging to a second individual identified only as “DB,” city police alleged in an affidavit.

Goodreau, of 2212 Spring Grove Road, is alleged to have used one of the stolen credit cards to buy two gift cards, one for $300 and another for $500, at Wegmans. Goodreau admitted to using the gift cards to buy sneakers and socks at Kohl’s, police said. The wallet belonged to “DB,” and Goodreau said he threw the victim’s wallet and credit cards “down a storm drain,” the affidavit stated. Using one of the stolen cards, Goodreau allegedly made purchases totaling $110 at a city business, police said. Besides the stolen cards, Goodreau also had on him crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Following his arraignment hours later before District Judge Denise Dieter on charges of access device fraud, theft, receiving stolen property, theft from a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence, Goodreau was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Woman charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Danielle Renee Trimble, 35, of 312 Broad St., apartment 1, Montoursville, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after leaving her daughter, about age 6, home alone anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, borough police alleged. The child, very distraught, walked out of the house, across Broad Street and entered a business “crying very hard,” police said. Trimble showed up at the business about 10 minutes after being contacted by someone in the store who knew the minor was Trimble’s daughter, police said.

An officer arrived and saw Trimble enter her home with the minor, police said. Trimble refused to answer the door when the officer attempted to speak to her, it was stated in an affidavit. Trimble waived her preliminary hearing Monday before Whiteman and is free on $10,000 bail.

State parolee back behind bars on a new charges

State parolee Eddie Johnson Jr., 38, of 1955 Lycoming Creek Road, has been locked up on new charges following an incident on Interstate 180 in Loyalsock Township about 12:45 a.m. Monday, state police said. He was a rear seat passenger in a 2008 Toyota Sierra that troopers had stopped for speeding, according to an affidavit. After troopers could “smell a heavy odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle, Johnson freely turned over a bag of marijuana to the troopers, saying he had a valid marijuana card, but the substance “was not in its original dispensary,” the affidavit stated. The driver allowed the troopers to search the vehicle, police said. A trooper located a loaded handgun where Johnson had been sitting, the court document stated. The registered owner was Johnson’s brother, whom Johnson said had been in the car earlier, police said. Johnson was taken into custody and arraigned before Dieter on charges of convicted felon not to possess a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.
